"An E-mail Marketing Strategy focuses on the use of e-mail in marketing communications. There are many different types of e-mail marketing. Generally speaking, any time you send an e-mail to another person, you are engaging in e-mail marketing. Every e-mail you send is part of e-mail marketing.

E-mail marketing has been one of the most effective and commonly used Internet marketing strategies since e-commerce first came into being. In recent years, the development of spam blocking software combined with the proliferation of spam itself has introduced new challenges to successfully market via e-mail.

Many internet marketers have been saying “e-mail is dead” or “blogs are the next e-mail” and variations suggesting that e-mail marketing doesn’t work anymore. However, e-mail marketing is still an integral component of most successful Internet marketing efforts. E-mail marketing isn’t dead, it is just changing.

To market successfully via e-mail or any other strategy, you must adapt your approach so that it keeps up with the times. "
